How to Layer Your Bed Like a Designer
Does your bed look like it belongs in a frat house? Are you swimming in too many pillows or not enough? Time to elevate your bedroom game.
At one point in my life, I’m embarrassed to say I had a bed in a bag. Not only did it suck the creativity out of my space, it was ugly and unoriginal. It doesn’t have to be this way! Carefully curating your bed linens should be a priority–you spend at least ⅓ of your day in it!
How to thoughtfully put together your bed:
Begin with a mattress pad or protector.
Add a fitted sheet.
Layer a flat sheet.
If it’s a colder season or you need more warmth, tuck in a blanket and layer on top of the flat sheet.
I like to be able to easily and frequently wash my comforter, so I usually go for a matelasse or coverlet. Some people prefer a duvet.
Layer a throw blanket, quilt, or folded duvet at the end of the bed for texture, dimension and extra warmth.
Have at least 2-4 sleeping pillows, 2 euros, and a lumbar or a couple decorative, smaller pillows.
Play with color, pattern, and texture.
Viola!
