A Passion Project

They’re here! The candleholders I’ve been working on since April alongside female welder, ceramicist and visual artist, Erin Garner-Pearson, are complete. These unique objects are inspired by a lamp post in Paris that I simply could not stop thinking about.

Lamp post in the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France.

When I returned from France in late March 2024, I came up with the series of 3 candleholder designs after many, many hours of sketching. I proceeded to call about 30 metal fabricators in the state with no leads. I even went down a rabbit hole of googling the word “cnc lathe.” Nobody was interested. Somehow, I came upon Erin’s bio online and I knew she was the right fit. We originally were going to create the candleholder with metal, but time and cost were an issue. Onto ceramics and glaze! I chose 3 of my brand colors and Erin got to work. We both took a huge leap of faith with this idea of mine, and I am so grateful for her trust and expertise.

You can find these candleholders on my website under “Extraordinary Things Store.” All three colors come in all three sizes; Onyx, Burgundy and Ecru.

This is the first of many product designs to come. I’m incredibly proud.
