Decorating for the Holidays Without Being Tacky

I said it. And I think you know what I’m talking about.

I am not a fan of copious amounts of red or plaid or maximalist anything for Christmas. Because I already use color generously in the enduring designs I create, for the holidays I prefer more simplicity—without skimping on the glamour.

Let me show you what I mean.

I am drawn to hues of gold, green, and maybe a pop of fuchsia. Lots of candles and candelabras and greenery, dried citrus fruits and pomegranates, fur and cable knit throws.

In my opinion, holiday decor should accentuate what you already have, not overwhelm it. I aim for cozy, nostalgic, and sophisticated.
