How to Decorate Your Kitchen Cabinets

Struggling with what to put on every exposed shelf in your kitchen? What we want is for this space to look lived-in and feel authentic to you, while also appearing put together and inspiring beauty. The keys are to keep it functional and display what you love and what has meaning to you. Take a look at the examples below.

This show-stopper of a kitchen was designed by Le Whit and photographed by Nicole Franzen. Notice how art, photos, and flowers were bought in. Bowls, vases and other vessels are also out on display. Beauty and function, and not overdone.

Similarly, this designer brought in color, greenery, some art, as well as things that will actually be used, like bowls, cups, plates, etc. The kitchen comes off as both honest and pleasing to the eye.

Another idea is to showcase small potted herbs and spices you’ll actually be using in your cooking, like I did below on the windowsill and in the cabinet on the left. The photographer here is my friend and colleague, the talented Chelsea Matson.
